We were commisioned by Solo Developments and Construction to design and install a fitted kitchen in their new build 5 bedroom property, in Wilsden, West Yorkshire.
The brief was simple and precise, they required a traditional style kitchen to perfectly harmonise with the traditional house build. One item that was required was an island with central cooking point.
We chose one of the new cashmere grain shaker style doors which although has a traditional style by utlising one of the new earth colours, a modern cornice and pelmet system we managed to give the kitchen a rather contempery feel while retaining traditional styling. This decided upon using a natural oak worktop, which complimented the existing internal oak doors, skirting and flooring in the dining room section. We also installed fully integrated applicances with a 900mm induction hob with a down draft extractor in the island. The travetine floor in the kitchen area matches well with the oak flooring in the rest of the room.
"We are really pleased with the outcome, Design House have managed to give us a truely traditional kitchen yet it also has a contempory feel to it, the island area works really well and fits in with what the end-user required, which was a truely open plan feel. We will certainly be using Design House on our forthcoming projects"
